Soracom, Inc. continues to strengthen its strategic alliances, ensuring seamless IoT connectivity and development. The company’s commitment to collaboration has already yielded major advancements, such as the commercial launch of its iSIM technology in partnership with Murata, Kigen, and Sony Semiconductor Israel.
Bridging IoT Development Gaps with Seamless Connectivity
Expanding its ecosystem, Soracom has now deepened its partnership with Sequans, a leading connectivity solutions provider. This collaboration aims to simplify IoT project development by offering evaluation kits (EVKs) that integrate Soracom’s global IoT connectivity with Sequans' cutting-edge LTE-M/NB-IoT and Cat 1bis technology.
Each kit includes a Soracom global IoT SIM with up to three months of connectivity, enabling developers to access LTE-M in 51 territories and NB-IoT in 35 territories, along with a suite of connectivity management and security tools. This ensures that IoT application developers can efficiently prototype, test, and scale their projects.
Next-Generation IoT Evaluation Kits
Developers can now leverage two distinct EVK options, each tailored for different IoT applications:
- LTE-M/NB-IoT (Sequans Monarch2 GM02S EVK)
- Features ultra-low power consumption and a compact design.
Ideal for smart meters, industrial sensors, health trackers, and other LPWA applications.
- LTE Cat 1bis (Sequans Calliope2 GC02S1 EVK)
- Operates on any LTE network worldwide with certification in North America and Europe.
Best suited for connected vehicles, logistics tracking, and telematics, where cross-border connectivity is crucial.
Accelerating IoT Innovation with Strategic Collaboration
Soracom emphasizes that these EVKs remove friction in IoT development, allowing businesses to test, iterate, and scale solutions with ease. According to Takashi Serizawa, Head of Europe Region at Soracom, the partnership with Sequans is designed to empower developers by streamlining the entire IoT deployment process.
Sequans’ EVP of Marketing and Strategy, Olivier Pauzet, also highlighted the synergy between Sequans hardware and Soracom’s connectivity, ensuring an efficient transition from evaluation to full-scale deployment.
