NTT and Toyota have entered into a strategic partnership in the fields of mobility and AI-enabled telecommunications with the aim of achieving a future without traffic accidents. This will be made possible by leveraging each company's particular strengths to further develop connectivity between people, vehicles and infrastructure, thereby creating a safe and humane society.

Innovation at both companies is focused on human-centered approaches that have been aligned through previous collaborations. Both Toyota and NTT will apply their respective competencies to develop an "Infrastructure Cooperative Approach" that will link advanced driving support systems with data-driven technologies and next-generation automated driving capabilities.

Toyota's development of SDVs based on the core principles of safety and security is at the forefront of this. These cars would require infrastructure at the level of high-speed telecommunications, AI systems that process and analyze large amounts of data, and high-performance computing networks.

Together, NTT and Toyota plan to build a "Mobility AI Platform", a cutting-edge infrastructure that integrates communication networks, AI capabilities, and data processing. This platform will enable a continuous connection between people, mobility, and the surrounding environment, supporting safer and smarter driving systems. The companies have committed to investing 500 billion yen in this project by 2030, and expect to see significant industry adoption and real-world impact by that time.

Through this partnership, NTT and Toyota aim to contribute to a world where traffic accidents are minimized or eliminated, with Japan at the forefront of this mobility revolution.
